Yes You Can... Cash In On Chaos!

Chaos Clinic Recap

Here are Al's comments

2:49 I'm done for the day-thanks for coming-see you next week-take a course

2:47 aborted for 0-don't like it

2:37 resold 1281, stop 1284

2:34 stopped out for +3.5

2:30 if my stop hold, I'll carry this trade through the next trade time

2:22 I think we just picked up the red -Tide; hope stop holds

2:10 stop to 1281, lock 3.5 ; I took a short break , went outside and shot 20 baskets - 2 groups of 10
hit 90 and 80 percent; talked to my wife, and got a drink - just to clear my mind a bit

1:56 stop to 1282, lock 2.5

1:45 early today we followed red -Tide, then green +Tide; red-green-red
is a common pattern, so end on red, going down

1:33 stop to 1283.5 -just above the 110 - lock one-plan to just hold to close

1:28 the outcry range is 11.25; if it doubles that is 1270.25 ; worth waiting for

1:22 notice that I have now worked it so that if my stop is hit, I'm 0 for the day,
but I have the potential for a good gain

1:16 this looks like an ABCDE triangle correction

1:12 I mis-typed; my stop limits my loss to 1.5 ; it is important to control
your losses, because that is the one thing you have absolute control over

1:10 this low volatility is the mid day doldrums

12:55 one has to be patient; this market had a big drop, now it's treading water; a second drop is probable

12:50 stop to 1286, limit loss to 1.5

12:44 took Scout and Scamp to the park, so now they will quit bugging me to get off the computer
most days I don't sit here

12:26 got 20/110 sell crossing in a "hook and go" false then true signal

12:24 pressed a bit and sold 1284.5, stop 1288

12:22 20 and 55 turning down- watching for a sell point-my stop will go at 1288 when I do

12:17 just got a 20/110 buy crossing-may be a head fake, so waiting
this looks like a peak in the green +Tide

12:14 1287 is a 50% retrace of the outcry session range

11:56 I'm back -taking my 5 on the stall

11:37 OK, I'm going to go eat breakfast - stop is in

11:33 stop to 1286, locking 4

11:26 here I like that the 55 minute EXMA stopped the last minor rally

11:20 stop to 1287, locking 3 and plus for the day

11:10 whee- imagine this trade with 100 contracts

11:01 looking good - stop to 1288, locking 2

10:54 I have placed a Fractal of Pi chart in the Certified Chaos Trader's Room. That room is open
to graduates of my 4 main courses. See http://moneytide.com -> Courses for details.
eMylar Fractal of Pi overlays help you be patient, since they show you future potential moves.
The best bargain in my courses is to take the Cash In On Chaos and Fractal of Pi courses and
learn to use the FOP overlay

10:40 stop now to 1289, just above the 110 EXMA, locking 1

10:30 stop to 1290, break even

10:28 I may let this one run past 9 points and look to cover at next Tide Time

10:26 stop now to 1290.5, just above the 110

10:17 looking a bit better now - Early entries on Friday are always tricky

10:11 resold 1290 stop 1293

I may resell, but I did not like a 4 point 3 minute candle

10:03 aborted for -2.5

9:56 stop now to 1292, just above the 110 at 1291.44

9:48 20 and 55 have both turned down

9:45 elected short 1288.5 stop 1293

9:42 putting a sell stop at 1288.5, just under the 55 ; if hit protection buy stop goes at 1293

9:38 watching for the 20 to turn down - note big top wick on 3 minute candle

9:36 it did

9:34 prices just hit the 110- watching to see if it turns them down

9:32 the 55 is near 1298-it has turned up

9:29 the 110 is down, near 1293, the 20 is up, so I'm watching for a continuation sell setup

9:27 Here I just focus on a simple chart with the 20,55, and 110 minute EXMA's like the SPKIss chart

9:13 This will be a hard day to day trade

9:11 Today's trade times are 09:38, 12:18, and 14:38 Eastern. Bad jobs report has market very oversold

9:07 Good Morning. Welcome to the Chaos Clinic. This site has a lot of charts,
so you may find it useful to have several of them available within your
browser. If you have a tabbed browser, you can open separate charts
in separate tabs by right clicking on any link, and selecting "open in new tab"
from the menu. The main list of site pages is at
http://daytradingforecasts.com/chartlistsec.asp
Recommended pages to watch are SPKISS, MTRainbow, and Chat.
For astro stuff, add SPSunMoonMer, Wheel, and Chaos Clinic.
Chaos clinic comments appear at the bottom of the SPKISS, MTRainbow,
and ChaosClinic pages. Comments in the chat room are announced by a
"duck call" noise. This noise also occurs when the sofware detects a
resonant hex pattern on the Wheel page. Trading tutorials
are on the righty side of the ListOfCharts page. One should
read Trading the MoonTide Tutorial and Keep it Simple as a minimum.

Besides the comments made by Al, the chat room is has live
comments from other traders who sometimes share their views,
trades and tips. Below are the chat room comments from this clinic

6/1/2012 1:22:06 PM MT WSL:: Al, do you see a bear market coming or this is just a short term healthy correction? Thanks.
6/1/2012 1:20:08 PM MT WSL:: Tg, chenduk in Singapore is better drink.
6/1/2012 1:20:08 PM MT Al****:: today is a hard down day-do not try to buy a falling dagger
6/1/2012 12:44:41 PM MT BBB****:: Al, would you be so kind as to explain why you resold? I have done nada but sure looked like a buy. I assume you were expecting another head fake?
6/1/2012 12:34:19 PM MT BBB****:: So now I am totally off topic but I got one of those SodaStream home soda water makers and when I make iced tea, after I brew it in hot water, I make a bottle of (as my daughter calls it) "bubble water" and add it to the tea. Carbonated ice tea is the greatest drink around, in my opinion.
6/1/2012 12:30:09 PM MT Tg****:: Drink of choice for me is iced coffee. On trading days I Make a batch at about 8 pm my time (8am EST).
6/1/2012 12:26:49 PM MT BBB****:: Good choice. I am on about my 5th iced tea.
6/1/2012 12:25:50 PM MT Al****:: my drink was Snapple
6/1/2012 12:23:08 PM MT Tg****:: got to 8-9, decided to lock the 7. Getting late here.
6/1/2012 12:14:52 PM MT BBB****:: "got a drink"?? A little afternoon whiskey in the mountains Al?
6/1/2012 9:59:33 AM MT BBB****:: I am thinking of getting rid of my account at Think or Swim. I love the charts but have had terrible times with executions and their buying power requirements are terrible. Today I got bumped out of the trade and could not reshort as I had wired money out yesterday, so I was below their minimum. Does anyone have a really "good" broker they would recommend?
6/1/2012 9:58:05 AM MT Al****:: TG: in that "almost 9" case I take 7, half way between 5 and 9
6/1/2012 9:47:19 AM MT AG:: Good questions Tg. Firstly, if the 9-point cover lands on an even number (1283, 1284, etc) I make a point of covering 1-tick below/above those levels for long/short trades, respectively. Round numbers obviously attract people. Otherwise, to remedy that problem I simply gauge how much conviction I have in the trade, but I typically won't give up more than 4 points profit if I'm sitting on 8.75.
6/1/2012 9:40:54 AM MT BBB****:: Good question. I don't have a solid rule for this one, other than I have the stop in place. But it can be a frustrating mental exercise to watch those gains evaporate.
6/1/2012 9:37:04 AM MT Tg****:: I've got a trade management question for anyone and everyone on an issue that surprisingly comes up a lot for me. I you are targeting 9 for instance and price gets to within 1 tick of that target or worse yet, hits it but you don't get filled, how much should you realistically allow for a give back to attempt to pick up the extra 1 or 2 ticks.
6/1/2012 9:28:49 AM MT Tg****:: approaching 3 hrs from the 8:30 am spike low with no new low.
6/1/2012 8:45:37 AM MT Tg****:: Good day everyone. Here in Singapore the big newspaper is The Straits Times.
6/1/2012 8:35:38 AM MT BBB****:: I see it - nice comment!
6/1/2012 8:32:11 AM MT mm****:: BBB - it is a Letter to the Editor
6/1/2012 8:27:44 AM MT BBB****:: mm - I do - did not get a chance to this morning - I will go look. What section?
6/1/2012 8:13:08 AM MT mm****:: BBB -assuming you read the WSJ - I have a letter in there
6/1/2012 7:19:26 AM MT Al****:: BBB: I haven't worked on the Tide software yet. Since the tide times are precomputable for decades into the future , I am thinking about making them available for the future if I can convince my son to offer them through a website that he would run
6/1/2012 6:57:07 AM MT bbb****:: Any thought as to how to disseminate the tide times should something happen? Awhile back I asked about purchasing te tide software and you said to wait while you worked on it. Any update?
6/1/2012 6:33:38 AM MT Al****:: GM all-good luck today
BBB: One should always be prepared for the inevitable
I don't have a timetable, but my server is ancient, and so is my body, mind, and spirit.
6/1/2012 6:01:43 AM MT bbb****:: Morning and good luck today. Al, considering this is the second (I think) time in a few weeks you have mentioned retirement, should we be preparing ourselves for something big?
6/1/2012 5:34:38 AM MT mm****:: gm all - have a great day

9:00 Eastern-System: No comments
