Chaos Clinic Recap

Here are Al's comments

I'm done for the day. Thanks for coming. See you next week. Take some courses and become a CCT.

3:35 covered for +2.5

3:32 stop to 1391

3:27 time is running out - I need to cover soon

3:18 raising stop to 1390.5

3:12 lowering my cover to 1395

3:07 just holding, and being patient

2:49 stop now to 1390 - finally to break even

2:36 green +Tide turns down at 3:47, so I will cover then if I don't make my target

2:23 moving stop up to 1389

2:17 on Friday, after about 2:30, many swing traders get flat, so if short, like from Monday this week, they will be covering shorts

2:14 also looks like move 4 in up CC-move 5 soon if true

2:03 looks like dip as per green +Tide

1:46 just waiting; expect green +Tide will carry it higher soon

1:31 moving my target up to 1397 and stop to 1388.5

1:25 today's range has engulfed yesterday's, so some daily candlestick swing traders will be buying

1:20 we have another trade time coming. If this trade keeps working, I'll just cary it through
It is very important to limit your number of trades in low volatility conditions

1:11 1395 is also a harmonic doubling of that 1383 to 1389 trading range

1:05 I'm making my cover 1395 based on a possible 15 point range suggested by my Fractal of Pi

1:00 stop to 1388

before I forget to mention it-watch for the Venus/Moon "Fertile Cresent" Sunday night about 7 PM, joined by Jupiter

12:56 posted a Fractal of Pi chart in the CCT room

12:49 at trade time, buying 1390 stop 1387 on small 20/110 continutation

12:21 I'm holding up better today than I anticipated, thanks to some arnica montana gel my wife had-never used it before
but it seems to work great on sore muscles

12:14 looks like move 1 has ended - took about 100 minutes; so about 50-100 minuts after high watch for low

12:10 corrected some time typos-I've now got too many clocks on my wall :)
but at least I know that regular TG in Singapore is now getting sleepy, since he just passed midnight

11:54 both of those charts show material from the Chaos Trading Made Easy course. In addition, one has some added astro stuff
and experimental forecast stuff, and the other has an auto trading system in development on it

11:51 today I am running two additiona charts in the Certified Chaos Trader's Room. That room is open
to graduates of my 4 main courses. See http://moneytide.com -> Courses for details.

11:33 since this rally came off a two day low, it could be move 1 up 7 in an up Chaos Clamshell
So may get a move 2 low near the next trade time

11:31 back after taking a break to take Scout and Scamp to the park. Getting some upsice juice

11:00 historically, the daily range of the S&P had been about 15-18 points. Since early February it has dropped to 7.5 - 9 points
This volatility draught will end, but in thh meantime patience and small targets are appropriate

10:49 next trade time is near 12:49. I'll stick around, but comments may be few due to my tendonitis

10:45 bounced up to the midpoint of the earlier 6 point range

10:40 my consolation is that the autorader I'm testing made the trade on time and got +2 - oh well

10:35 aborted for -2

10:26 yesterday had a similar decline, which eneded at the Natural Time near 11:00

10:19 my entry was late because I decided to grsb some breakfast-cover will be 1380

OK-sold 1382 stop 1385; late entry, so need to be careful

10:05 just past Tide time-still in trading range

9:45 since yesterday at 11:00-trading in about a 6 point range 1383 to 1389-I want a breakout to that range to get me interested

9:36 MTRainbow chart shows double bottom yesterday, suggesting continuatation rally today

9:32 putting a buy stop at 1390 above hign/Moon flux

9:28 getting a continuation buy on the 20/110-watching for a break to new highs

9:23 theSPSunMoonMer chart shows trade between Moon +T090 and Sun +H090 electric field flux.

9:18 today's trade times are 10:00 12:49 and 14:14

9:15 Good Morning. Welcome to the Chaos Clinic. This site has a lot of charts,
so you may find it useful to have several of them available within your
browser. If you have a tabbed browser, you can open separate charts
in separate tabs by right clicking on any link, and selecting "open in new tab"
from the menu. The main list of site pages is at
http://daytradingforecasts.com/chartlistsec.asp
Recommended pages to watch are SPKISS, MTRainbow, and Chat.
For astro stuff, add SPSunMoonMer, Wheel, and Chaos Clinic.
Chaos clinic comments appear at the bottom of the SPKISS, MTRainbow,
and ChaosClinic pages. Comments in the chat room are announced by a
"duck call" noise. This noise also occurs when the sofware detects a
resonant hex pattern on the Wheel page. Trading tutorials
are on the righty side of the ListOfCharts page. One should
read Trading the MoonTide Tutorial and Keep it Simple as a minimum.
9:00 Good morning from Chaos Manor

Besides the comments made by Al, the chat room is has live
comments from other traders who sometimes share their views,
trades and tips. Below are the chat room comments from this clinic

3/23/2012 1:56:59 PM MT BBB****:: I emailed you mm, will continue on there.
3/23/2012 1:55:51 PM MT mm****:: no kidding !
3/23/2012 1:54:22 PM MT BBB****:: NO KIDDING?
3/23/2012 1:47:17 PM MT mm****:: BBB - Just one more comment in the room: One of my buddies in Manhattan in the sixties "developed" years later into Dr. Robert Atkins, MD. We were sitting in the sand on the Long Island beaches when he taught us: eat broccoli !!
3/23/2012 1:43:20 PM MT BBB****:: mm. You and I need to go have a beer. I ran the marathon barefoot and am a POSE method runner. I had to RETRAIN myself not to run by heel strking, but with the ball of the foot landing directly under my center of mass and using gravity to propel me forward, not pushing off with the hip flexor doing all the work. But I don't have to tell you all this - I can tell you know. 81 and still joggin - you sound like my kind of guy. I agree 100% with what you have said and that marathons are terrible for the body. But the body is amazing and can recover easily given the right opportunity, rest, and fuel. That is why I don't go run a bunch. You are also correct with the alternative intensity. I am curious - what part of the country do you live in?
3/23/2012 1:39:55 PM MT mm****:: BBB - Sorry - I commposed my latest before I read your latest. Why don't we continue by email - mimemich@aol.com - instead of boring the rest of the room.
3/23/2012 1:34:42 PM MT mm****:: BBB - To the best of my knowledge: it has been established years ago that marathon running is BAD for our health. I attribute my good health not only to my vitamin intake, but also to my running/jogging, going back to my 12 years in Manhattan in the 60ies, when we had to run on the suspended tracks at the Y, because the cops would have arrested us if we had run in the streets or even in Central Park - the running craze started 10 years later, in the seventies. To the best of my knowledge: the latest thinking is that Marathons are BAD for your health - wearing down your body. The best exercise is Alternate Intensity, etc. - several programs have been out for several years by now: you go "all out" for a minute to two - then go slow for a few minutes - and then start again. Apparently this is THE BEST way to e.g. also lose weight. Since we were running at that time, in the 60ies, on 1/4" hard rubber sole tennis sneakers - before NIKE's 2" foam soles - I had hip replacements, both sides, already 15+ years ago. The first thing the surgeon tells you, when you come out of the anesthesia, is: no more running or jogging ! But, being a "wise guy", I have been jogging ever since: on he balls of my feet, using the foot springs - "innumerable" bones, tendons, etc. When one walks, jogs, runs, etc. every step - putting down the heel - gives an impact to the hip joint, since the knee is not an efficient spring - unless one jumps down from 3' up.
3/23/2012 1:23:07 PM MT sdg:: Need the CC to open 1 more time!
3/23/2012 1:16:24 PM MT BBB****:: And as for the grains argument - the best store of energy for a human is fat. So if you consume it, you are consuming pure energy. As you know if you know about Paleo, there is no correlation between a high fat diet and gaining fat weight. The introduction of processed foods and grains cause our body to spike insulin production and then store fat - its evolutionary. Taking the processed flour and grains out allows the natural balance to take effect. Fascinating stuff and as you can tell I can talk about it for days.
3/23/2012 1:13:49 PM MT BBB****:: mm -- Funny you should say that. Are you asking because you think I should be eating grains and carbs to carbo load to run marathons? I will tell you this - I ran a marathon this past January but do not consider myself a marathon runner. In fact, I trained for it ONLY by running sprint intervals twice a week and doing heavy backsquats and deadlifts. No long runs whatsoever. And I did better than I did when I ran them 10 years ago and trained by runnning long distance. I also weigh 30 pounds more today due to developing Acromegaly (go google that! Here is a hint - Andre the giant had it too) Here is what have come to find out, much through trial and error and experimentation: One only needs to do the MINIMUM EFFECTIVE DOSE in order to accomplish something physically. The sprinting developed my hamstrings much quicker than runnning long distance. And on top of that, sprinting is anabolic, creating testosterone. Long distance running has the opposite effect. Just look at a kenyan runner (frail and skinny ) and a sprinter (looks like a beast). The exercise methodolgy called Crossfit has been looking into this from a scientific standpoint for years and while I do work out 5-6 days a week, rarely are my workouts longer than 20 or 30 minutes. Most run around 10 - 15 but are done at maximum intensity in order to train all metabolic pathways to operate at maximum output. The minimum effective dose is like this: if you have a headache you take aspirin (or something). You could take 20 aspirin and get rid of the headache, or you could take 2 and still get rid of the headache. The same is true with training. YOu dont NEED to run 60 miles a week to do a marathon, you only need to do what is necessary. In fact I was going to run a 50 mile run this past February but the tendonitis got the best of me. Everything else was ready to go!
3/23/2012 12:46:57 PM MT mm****:: BBB - but also: aren't you the marathon runner?
3/23/2012 12:45:29 PM MT mm****:: BBB - CONGRATULATIONS ! I wish I had your determination to live on the Paleo diet which is THE BEST
3/23/2012 12:32:10 PM MT BBB****:: Been playing around with FOG in w59, put one up in CCT
3/23/2012 11:56:29 AM MT Al****:: looks good to me BBB - conditions vary
MM-you continue to be my inspiration
3/23/2012 11:51:30 AM MT BBB****:: Al, comment on the grid in CCT? I initially had a down grid that looked perfect but it was shattered with the move up. I have never had such a slanted first grid line - thoughts appreciated.
3/23/2012 11:48:15 AM MT sdg:: Would anyone consider another contract if in trade window and going same direction?
3/23/2012 11:22:26 AM MT BBB****:: Good for you. What you put in equates to the kind of energy and vitality you get out, just like a machine. 4 years ago I got on board the Paleo bandwagon, and after reading "The Paleo Solution" by Robb Wolff, I will never eat bread or grains again. I don't take vitamins, and get all the minerals and nutrients I need (not knocking taking them by the way) from meat and fat and veggies. My doctors can't believe my levels are as perfect as they are - especially considering my occupation. The book is cheap as can be and has been a lifesaver to everyone I have turned on to it. My father, an epileptic on numerous medications, eats more now than ever in the past and he has lost about 35 pounds. At 67 he looks 50 even though all he does is walk. I would love to know what vitamins you take as I am on the verge of adding vitamin D in. I also take fish oil like it is going out of style and that helps tremendously with inflammation.
3/23/2012 10:58:28 AM MT mm****:: At 81+ I am on NO prescription medication (with all their poisonous side effects!)and NEVER have - BUT: I take a ton of vitamins (incl. DMSO) - 40+ "pills" a day - as I have for 40+ years.
3/23/2012 10:50:56 AM MT BBB****:: continuation buy? By the way - even with all that surgery (and having brain surgery in 2010 to remove a tumor) I am a healthy and active 35 year old. In fact I am currently competing in teh Crossfit Open, go check it out if you have not heard of it. I credit exercise and a good diet with recovery from both. My brain surgeon was amazed at how quick I was up and around. They actually stopped me from trying to do push ups in the hospital afterwards. It all starts with the food you eat.
3/23/2012 10:48:42 AM MT Al****:: BBB: wow
3/23/2012 10:37:40 AM MT BBB****:: It might but it has been used forever for this stuff. My grandad had it around and used it like lotion. Read about it online - its harmless in small amounts, just make sure the skin is not dirty, otherwise it will pull whatever is on teh skin into the skin and you can get a rash. I have had 2 back surgeries and my left leg was paralyzed at one point from a ruptured disk and this stuff is a God-send.
3/23/2012 10:37:24 AM MT sdg:: At Amazon..make sure to try the mint scent, the original is not pleasant (horses can't smell?) BBB- feel your pain, spent most of the morning trading client accounts and lagged on the entry.
3/23/2012 10:37:23 AM MT Al****:: ordered them both at Amazon-thanks guys
3/23/2012 10:34:44 AM MT Al****:: found the Vet linament on line-know about DSMO -I'm told WD40 contains it

3/23/2012 10:32:59 AM MT BBB****:: DMSO is a solvent that is not sold for anti-inflammation, but it is something that was used years ago by almost everyone. I get it on Amazon but holistic places carry it. Look up its properties, it is amazing stuff. As long as the skin is clean, rub it in ( a lot of times it comes mixed with Aloe) and it will immediately take down inflammation. It is such a good solvent that almost immediately after using it you sense a taste of garlic in the mouth -it gets into the blood that quickly. the best use is to grab a mortar and pestal and grind up some aspirin. If you mix this with the DMSO the pain will immediately go away. The stuff costs about 6 bucks too and it is amazing, but use sparingly.
3/23/2012 10:29:54 AM MT Al****:: SDG: Thanks. I'l have to look online, because the nearest tractor supply company is 40 miles away, since I live in a city.

3/23/2012 10:27:56 AM MT Al****:: BBB: I've been going to a good massage therapist. Just couldn't go see her yesterday when the tendonitis showed up.
I do usually peek qat the XTide 2 chart, but only as a confirmation of what I think the MoonTides are telling me.
3/23/2012 10:24:11 AM MT sdg:: Al - try Absorbine Vet Liniment,in the Equine section of your local tractor supply company. Works wonders!
3/23/2012 9:17:43 AM MT BBB****:: Al, Xtide showed a bottom at or near the actual bottom today and has a top comign up sometime later today. Do you ever take stock of that before you place a trade - i.e. todays short at 82 was right near teh bottom on the second and third xtide chart....
3/23/2012 8:59:26 AM MT BBB****:: As for the tendonitis - go get a massage. It helps 100%. I have it terribly in my knee after a marathon I ran in January and one session later I was walking normal. Getting fresh blood in there combats the inflammation and gets you back on track. You can also freeze a half full plastic water bottle and use that to strip the pain away - massage the arm with the bottle in the direction of the tendons and it will help to alleviate the pain and get you moving again.
3/23/2012 8:56:17 AM MT BBB****:: Al, thanks - thats a huge compliment. Unfortunately I am still working mainly with a paper account and it is doing awesome. But I cherry pick trading with real money and it is killing me as I am flat to down marginally this year doing that. not big as I only trade one ES with real money for now, but its frustrating. I have a "real" job managing muni bond portfolios so this is to keep my brain going all day long. I am looking forward to coming and sitting with you for a day or two this summer, I believe that will be priceless.
3/23/2012 8:49:46 AM MT Al****:: BBB-you were right on - I really like the way you trade
3/23/2012 8:03:16 AM MT BBB****:: seems like a continuation sell, no?
3/23/2012 7:44:23 AM MT BBB****:: New homes sales in 15 minutes
3/23/2012 6:48:05 AM MT bbb****:: That's a lot of times today. Volatility please!
3/23/2012 5:24:53 AM MT mm****:: gm all - have a great day
